My China...errr... my Everyday!

Kelly's doing another Show us How you Live today and it's all about your China Patterns.

We registered for China when we got married almost 3 years ago now...WOW... anyway, we didn't get any of the China that we registered for.. haha.. It was a little pricey. It was Kate Spade "Bonnabel Place"... It was beautiful, but a 5 piece place setting was $130.00! Yikes! I wasn't surprised that for the wedding, we only got a saucer.. HAHA.. So we decided to take back the $17.00 saucer and get something else, and we gave up on getting China.

However, we did get ALL of our everyday dishes! We got a full 12 piece set of everything.. and we LOVE our everyday!

They are Denby Jet. We mixed in the Denby Stripes, Denby Dots, and Denby Black and got 4 settings of each to make a full mix and match set!

I love the colors in all of them!

The Dots are my favorite! They have now been discontinued... good thing I got all mine :)

Ok so not everything.. I am lacking this awesome serving platter...But one day...

But I do have this awesome Bowl... LOVE IT!!

And we also got this serving dish in the Stripes design...

I just love mixing and matching the sets together when we have a dinner. I think i will Love this pattern for a long long time... I sure hope I do.. haha..

And one day, I might get me some china!

Kids Names :)

Today on Kelly's Korner she is asking about kids names... future or present kids...   I feel we have the most fabulous name of all with Mr Brady, but I am curious to read all the other post for some ideas...for future kids, of course...

DAVID BRADY WOOTEN

We knew for sure that if  when we had a son, he would be named David. That is Chris' first name and Chris' dad's name.. so naturally, we were going to pass it on.

Before we knew how much that name would fit him, we chose it. Now, looking back, it is the most perfect name for him. Brady and his Papaw David lived such parallel lives for the few short months that they lived on this earth together. They spent most of those months in the hospital (different hospitals, same time) They were given some of the same medicines on the same days in those hospitals. They had similar symptoms.. When Mr. David was having his bone marrow test done at Baptist Hospital, Brady was down the street at the Blair E Batson hospital for Children in the bone marrow room, because it was the last room on the floor avalible... There were many more ironic stories... Stories that still blow my mind when I think about it... Last May, Mr. David passed from this world to his eternal home with Jesus and last June (one month later) Brady had his last seizure.  We believe that Mr. David is sitting up there in Glory watching over our sweet "david" down here. We are so blessed to have so many pictures of the two of them.

And to blow your mind even more, we found some baby pictures of Mr. David that are CRAZY similar to what Brady looked liked at that age... we found them after Mr. David passed away... we had no idea that Brady even resembled Mr David until we found those pictures... I will let you judge for yourself...

No, this is NOT Brady... This is his namesake... This is his Pawpaw David! Crazy?!?!?! I Know, Right?

This is the last pictures we have with Brady and Mr. David ... taken 18 days before he met Jesus.

We will cherish these pictures.

So now that we had "David" down, it was time for the middle name...

We went through the alphabet.. 

A-Z...

 we through around "Gabriel" for a while. We like "Austin" and "Clarke" too.

"Brady" was always on the list.

I am a life-long watcher of Days of our Lives...

my next favorite show was Sex and the City...

both of which have characters or Families named Brady

Okay... there, I got "Brady" from Days and SATC...

I admit it...

Big Deal!

I think it fits him well.

Here's a tiny side story for you...

During the child birth process his heart rate dropped pretty low and then would pick back up... It did that several times... They called it "Bradycardia" which means slow heart rate... I had no idea that was even a word. When the nurses asked me what his name was going to be and I told them Brady they told me it was the perfect name for him...

It was meant to be :)

OH yes! I have picked out our girl name also, BUT, I am still convincing Chris that he loves it.. I have already taught Brady how to say it, and he LOVES it... It will grow on Chris, and until it does, its our secret.

Take me out to the Ballgame!

Tonight we took Brady to his very First Baseball Game...

...and he LOVED it!

He is such a happy baby and he Loves to be outside!

So we knew he was gonna Love it.

He was such a Studd with his spiked up hair!

He never got cranky either.. we were very surprised...

Plus we had cookies! He will do anything for Cookies!

DIY Earring holder...Super Easy!!!

If your like me, and you have a drawer full of dangly earrings and you can never find a matching set when you need them, or when you pull out one you get a ball of others that are all connected ... Then this post is for you! I found this project on one of the fabulous blogs that I stalk and went to Hobby Lobby and  Home Depot and on that very same day I made this super easy earring display.

All you need is an old frame.. of decent size.. I found one at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section for practically nothing because it had a few scratches on it...

Next, some screen... I went for the plastic  Pet screen (its thicker and more durable feeling) not the metal... but you can do whatever style you like. Plus, the screen that I found and liked was open so the lady at Home Depot gave it to me for half off... Cant beat that!

You will also need a staple gun (Home Depot for less than $10.00...Seriously), some Ribbon (the color or style of your choice...This gives you the oportunity to give it your own flair), and a pair of Scissors... Thats it!

In just a few short steps, you will have your very own wall art!

1.)Lay the frame on the screen and cut out the screen around the outside peremeter of the frame...

2.) Flip the frame over and staple the screen to the back of the frame... remember to pull tight... Start in the middle of the top then go to the middle of the bottom, then the middle of the sides ... THEN hit up the corners

The more staples the better.. I mean, It cant hurt it...

3.) Cut two pieces of ribbon about a foot long each

4.) Staple the ribbons to the back of the frame... REMEMBER to make sure they are the same legnth from the sides that way your frame dosen't hang crooked...

I stapled it under the screen , by the way...

5.) Tie the ribbon in a nice bow and hang on the wall ... decorate it with your earrings and...

...TADA...

Bet you Didn't know... I could SEW!!

Well Neither did I! Thats right, I have never in my life sat down at a sewing machine but, while "blog stalking" the other day I saw an amazing post on round table coverings and said to myself...

"self, you can do that!"

I had never even thought about covering my tables because they were bought to be displayed... They were bought as a set ... they were bought for a lot of money... they were bought because the glass top was so beautiful... then I had a baby.. and that baby became a toddler... and I got tired of cleaning glass!!! Now, I dont want to put all the blame on sweet Brady... On one table sits a PS3 and all the georgous cords that go with it and under the other we are housing a subwoofer, and an extension cord with plugs for the laptop, the lamp, the subwoofer, etc... CORDS CORDS CORDS!

HaHaHa.. Don't you just Love my Beauty School Glamour Shot?!?!

You think this would have bothered me before now but for some reason I have never thought about covering it up... until I saw what It could look like...

On Friday Night I read the blog and on Saturday morning I was at hobby Lobby buying fabric... something I had NEVER done before! I go to Hobby Lobby weekly and have never stepped foot in the fabric section.. but on Saturday, I did. Well, we did.. Thats right, the very first time I went to match and buy fabrics I took my 18 month old son! CRAZY, I know (now)! So it was a quick trip... I got the fabric, some straight pens, a pen cushion, and a measuring tape ribbon... I am starting from scratch here...

Then off to my Mother-in-Law's to borrow her never been used, fresh out of the box, Singer Sewing Machine.  Thats right, I got to break this thing in... ME, a completely unexperienced sewer! Good thing she trust me :)

So with fabric, accessories, and sewing machine in hand, off to the house I go...I laid Brady down for a nap then crack that sewing machine open and read the instruction book cover to cover.. I learned what every part of that machine did and where it was and why it was there... I had no idea! Next thing you know I was on the floor cutting fabric! By 3am that morning I was done with the first table! HAHA.. but hey, a flood starts with a rain drop .. because last night I finished up the second one!

By no means are these tableclothes perfect! They would have been darn close though if I was any good at math! I got my measurments wrong by 10"so that was fun... I just got some scrap fabric and made up the difference.. the patters goes every direction but Who Cares??? It dosen't have to be perfect to be beautiful, Right?

Not too bad for my first time, huh?? Not too Shabby at all...I mean, I'm pretty much a Seamstress now.
